In this presentation, cross-border wealth manager and AIAM member Tariq Dennison presents jointly with Christopher Chang CPA, a US tax specialist at American Pacific Tax, outlining considerations and solutions to common tax consequences of investing into the US from Hong Kong.

Tariq Dennison CFPCM is a Hong Kong based investment adviser at GFM Asset Management. Prior to GFM, he served in the wealth management divisions of Societe Generale in Hong Kong, CIBC in Toronto and London, Bear Stearns and JP Morgan in New York. Tariq holds a Masters in Financial Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a Bachelors in Mathematics and the History of Philosophy from Marquette University, and teaches Fixed Income and Alternative Investments at ESSEC Business School in Singapore. Mr. Dennison is an IFPHK CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERCM professional, a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Planners (STEP) and the author of the book “Invest Outside the Box”. He is a frequent speaker on RTHK Radio 3’s “Money Talk”, HKIBC Cable News’s “All About Money” and multiple public conferences on ETFs, fixed income, investor education, and retirement plans.

Christopher brings a strong financial background to American Pacific Tax. He has over 10 years of US taxation and business financial management experience. Christopher is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Hawaii, USA. Christopher started his career at Grant Thornton LLP, one of the largest international public accounting firms. He has also gained valuable tax compliance experience at one of Hawaii’s leading accounting firms ECA LLP where he handled high net worth individual clients and businesses. Christopher graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting and Marketing from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (USA).
During his professional career, Christopher prepared over 1,000 individual, corporate and partnership tax returns allowing him to gain valuable insight into the financial needs of individuals and companies. His strong financial background and prior experience have prepared him for handling the diverse client needs for individuals living abroad.
